Tao Te #53 ~ humility
ะค
When society discovers our talents
and elevates us to a position of power
this is the time to reach inside
for humility and avoid displays of pride
Humanity most often chooses the easy path
avoiding responsibility or falling into corrupt ways
But the Tao teaches us that what is good will last
and we must strive to find the best and stay
within the compass of honour and virtue
it is easy to think that the short cut will not be noticed
or to feather ones' nest with the baubles from the office
it is much harder to stay on the path and be true
when the state house is filled with corporate cash
the fields are neglected and the
people are poor
the granaries are emptied, and people search the trash
for left over burgers, tacos, chicken and more
when the leaders spend tax dollars fighting wars
and you see former crime fighters with high priced whores
when speculators drive up the prices of essential goods
such that the average guy cannot afford to buy good food
fashion hounds that drive SUV's
living within the lap of luxury
the princes of society
are not living within DivineUnity
|

What can this teach us?
|
Why is it important to demonsrate humility when one is famous or powerful?
Why does Humanity often choose the easy path?
Who was Thomas Hobbes?
What is Social Contract theory?
Why is it that when the state house is filled with corporate cash, the people are poor?
Why is it that in this Tao, it says that the princes of society are not living within DivineUnity?
